The reform of construction law in Slovakia was intended to be a step towards simplifying and streamlining the investment process. The reality – as is often the case – turned out to be much more complicated.

the new Construction Act, which, as the more recent piece of legislation, ultimately came into force, despite
the Spatial Planning Act, which, although passed, never came into effect.
